To limit global temperature rise in line with the Paris Agreement, significant emission reductions must be realized before 2030. The transport sector is the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions in Norway, accounting for about a quarter of the EU's annual greenhouse gas emissions.
The government’s climate goal is to halve emissions from the transport sector by 2030, even as transportation volumes increase. For the transport sector, electrification is the most important climate measure, and access to charging infrastructure represents one of the largest barriers to electrification.
Electrification is fundamentally about enabling society to choose fossil-free solutions, which are central to the transition to a zero-emission society. This way, we make it easier to choose renewable options when consuming energy.
Through early development in a pioneering market, Eviny has acquired unique experience and expertise to help develop and scale zero-emission solutions that enable electrification of land transport, maritime transport, construction sites, and other mobile energy needs.
As part of our strategic commitment to electrification through the business area Electrification and Technology, we will contribute to commercial and efficient scaling of validated initiatives in rapidly growing markets, and drive value-maximizing development of established initiatives in the coming years.
Here's how we do it:
- We will continue to build charging stations for cars and boats in Norway and other markets.
- We will continue to establish shore power solutions for cruise ships and the aquaculture industry.
- We will continue to deliver battery technology to the construction industry.
- We will continue to invest in startups and growth companies that contribute to a zero-emission society.
